Teal Stetson-Lee

Teal Stetson-Lee is the Chairwoman for the Rico Geothermal Coalition and the Community Liaison for the Rico Geothermal Project.

Teal was born and raised in Durango, Colorado as an outdoor, nature kid, belonging to the mountains, high deserts, rivers and wild forests. She has led community organizing projects and events for 15 years.  Most recently, as the Co-Operations Director for the Telluride Mushroom Festival.

Teal is passionate about geothermal as a fan of soaking springs and also has been curious about the Rico geothermal resource ever since high school, when she would soak in the hot springs with friends on her way to and from the Telluride Bluegrass Festival and ski trips.

Additionally, through her brother and close geology friends, she became interested in the earth’s dynamic history and unique resources. In 2020 Teal landed in Rico and started to dream about new potential for the Rico hot water source that could benefit the whole community.
