Our Partners

In addition to Coalition Members, our partners are an essential part of the work we do.

Teverra

Teverra’s role in this project as project lead is to complete a resource technical assessment and thermal energy network preliminary design as well as manage the entire project. The resource assessment involves compiling and integrating existing data of the Rico geothermal system. This data will be used to build a conceptual 3D geologic model which will aid in a geothermal resource estimate for Rico. With a better understanding of the subsurface geothermal resource, well spot locations can be identified for optimal development and potential thermal energy will be estimated.

A complete resource risk assessment will be completed in conjunction with the resource technical assessment. This will include a resource uncertainty analysis to identify limitations of the scientific and technical knowledge and evaluating their implications for scientific conclusions. Quantifying the uncertainty in the resource model will also aid in knowing what additional data is needed to add certainty. An environmental risk assessment will be conducted to identify and assess potential risks, and then put plans in place to mitigate potential environmental impacts of the proposed project.

Colorado Energy Office

The mission of the Colorado Energy Office is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and consumer energy costs by advancing clean energy, energy efficiency, and accessibility of zero emission vehicles to benefit all Coloradans.

Clean Energy Economy for the Region (CLEER) Climate & Energy Services

CLEER, a nonprofit serving western Colorado, works to accelerate the transition to a clean energy economy by advancing energy independence, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and supporting community-scale climate solutions. Through technical assistance, stakeholder engagement support, and strategic consulting, CLEER partners with local governments, school districts, utilities, and other institutions to reduce energy consumption and implement clean energy programs. CLEER has emerged as a leader in thermal energy networks, ground-source heat pumps, and geothermal energy development. In 2026, CLEER provided grant funding to the Rico Geothermal Coalition to support market-building activities focused on storytelling, public engagement, and fundraising efforts aimed at advancing geothermal energy awareness and project development.
